Catherine Bartels

Catherine Bartels graduated in May 2012 with a Master's degree from the Department of City and Regional Planning at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she concentrated in Community and Real Estate Development.

Catherine has a background in architecture (B.Arch '10 Penn State University) and has also worked in graphic design.

Her experience in design, real estate development, sustainability, and planning give her a unique perspective to understand all facets of development -- the architectural, the financial, the institutional, and the economic.

Currently, Catherine joined Capital Associates as a Property Manager in 2018. She has a diverse background in real estate that includes asset management, project management, real estate acquisitions/dispositions and architecture. She enjoys bringing together the different aspects of her background to troubleshoot complex operational issues. Catherine particularly enjoys managing buildings with unique needs – in past positions, she has worked on historic buildings, affordable housing complexes, LEED Certified buildings, and tax credit properties.

She is an associate AIA, a LEED GA, and a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina.
